1. Choose the right product for your skin type

It is important that you know whether you have normal, sensitive, oily, dry, or combination. Make sure that you buy skincare products that are formulated specially for your skin type. To know which skin type you fall under, just pay attention to your T-zone, or the area that covers your forehead and nose.

Normal - This type is neither oily nor dry. It has the right quality and supple to touch.
Oily - People with oily skin usually have big pores and when they wipe their face with a tissue it leaves an oily mark. They also are usually acne-prone.
Dry - This skin type feels tight especially after washing your face. Dry skin is also prone to flaking and irritation; thus people that fall under this type should moisturize regularly.
Combination - This is the most common skin type. It’s characterized by an oily T-zone but other areas are normal.
Sensitive - This skin type is quite reactive even to normal skincare products. Your face is prone to rashes and allergies.

2. Protect your skin from the sun

Use sun-protection if you plan to go out during the day. But be careful in choosing your sunscreen. Make sure to use safe and natural alternatives such as herbal oils. Otherwise, avoid staying out in the sun between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. Wear a hat or any other form of sun protection when you’re out and about.

3. Rethink makeup

Give your skin a break. Give it time to breathe by slowing down on the foundation or even BB cream. These products can clog up your pores and cause blemishes when not removed properly. Make sure that your face is clean and makeup free before going to bed.

4. Hydrate and Moisturize

Hydrate from within and moisturize on the outside. Drink lots of healthy fluid like natural juices, protein smoothies for boosting your keratin production, and fresh water to hydrate your cells. Healthy skin cells means glowing skin on the outside. So be sure to up your water intake everyday.

After bathing, make sure to seal up your skin’s natural moisture. Whether it be a natural essential oil or a regular moisturizer, moisturizing the skin is crucial to prevent dryness and wrinkles.

We simply don’t get enough vitamins and minerals from the food that we eat. By taking quality multivitamins, we can supplement our regular diet and get the right level of nutrients to stay healthy and young.
