Dry and damaged locks. We’ve all been through it. But coconut oil is here for the rescue! This healing oil is perfect for rejuvenating unhealthy tresses. Coconut oil is one of the best natural oils for hair growth. Tradition and medicine have proven that!

Coconut oil is rich in linoleic acid and other nutrients that nourish the hair follicles. This encourages the growth of healthy and shiny hair. There are several ways to use coconut oil. We can take it as an oral supplement (food grade) or use it as a scalp and hair treatment.

A weekly hair mask helps hydrate our scalp as well as protect it from external threats. This is stimulating for the follicles. We can mix coconut oil with other ingredients that we see in our kitchen everyday such as herbs, other herbal oils, and fruits. These items give us vitamins and minerals that make healthy tresses.

Making a coconut oil hair mask is as easy as 1-2-3. We can finish it in just a few minutes! Here are some recipes to try at home.

Coconut oil and honey hair growth mask

Mix these two ingredients in a bowl. To open up the hair follicles, it is best to heat the oil-honey mixture in a saucepan before application. We can apply the mask onto wet or dry strands. Although wet hair is preferable for easier application.

Once applied on the hair, wrap your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. This allows the scalp to drink the vitamins and healthy lipids in the coconut oil. After that, wash and shampoo/condition your hair as usual.
